Andalusian Fire: What Awaits You in IRONMAN 70.3 Marbella
Where passion meets endurance — welcome to Andalucía’s stage for the 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
Step into the heart of southern Spain, where the rhythm of flamenco meets the pulse of triathlon. IRONMAN 70.3 Marbella isn’t just another race — it’s a fusion of Andalusian fire, Mediterranean heat, and world-class endurance. From the clear waters of the Costa del Sol to the rolling climbs toward Ojén and Coín, every kilometer tests your control, confidence, and connection to the road.
On November 8–9, 2025, Marbella will host the Precision Fuel & Hydration IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship. It’s the first time the event lands on Spanish soil — and it promises a show worthy of Andalucía’s reputation for heat, hospitality, and heart.
Expect temperatures between 14 °C and 25 °C, low morning winds, and the region’s trademark micro-climate protected by the Sierra Blanca mountains. The result? Fast air, warm seas, and a race that rewards those who manage heat, hydration, and pacing as one system.
Everything here is amplified — the colors, the light, the crowd energy. The local community embraces the race like a festival, lining the streets of Puerto Banús and the Promenade de Marbella with cheers of “¡Olé!” as athletes pass. It’s not just about finishing; it’s about feeling part of a living culture that runs as deep as the climbs of Ojén.
The 90 km ZOOT bike course defines the race. Leaving the palm-lined “Golden Mile,” you’ll climb through Ojén toward Monda and Coín — a net gain of 1,785 m / 5,857 ft. The highpoint rewards you with sweeping descents before rejoining the coast at Puerto Banús.
This is where aero efficiency becomes your currency. Riders using the Masamune Aero Cockpit report up to 30 W of power saved in crosswind sections and greater stability on technical descents. In Marbella’s rolling terrain, every watt you don’t waste is a second you keep for the run.

The Mediterranean swim is calm but deceptively fast, averaging 16 °C / 61 °F. The bike is pure Andalucía — all rhythm and resistance. And the run? Flat, scenic, and mental. Four coastal loops along Marbella’s promenade test not just your endurance but your ability to hold form when the sun peaks at 25 °C.
To master the conditions, combine smart pacing, aerodynamic discipline, and fluid intake tailored to heat.
As a World Championship event, IRONMAN 70.3 Marbella gathers athletes who’ve qualified across the global series. Whether you earned your slot at Cascais, St. George, or Bahrain, this race represents the pinnacle of mid-distance triathlon — where passion, preparation, and precision fuel converge.
After the finish, the celebration continues. The beaches, tapas, and Andalusian nights transform the post-race recovery into part of the reward. Few courses on the planet combine technical demand, cultural energy, and coastal beauty like Marbella does.
Pace smart, ride aero, and let Masamune handle the wind.
